How to Add Clients and Prospects One at a Time

Learn how to add clients and prospects manually as a single entry

This article provides step-by-step instructions for adding clients and prospects one at a time.

Important notes before getting started:

🚨Our system automatically scrubs for duplicates, so we will not add the same client twice.

🚨When you add clients one at a time, they should receive the welcome email within 24 hours. Learn about the automated emails here.

🚨By adding your clients and prospects, you opt them into receiving the Home Digest or Home Search experience. Clients and prospects can unsubscribe from their automated emails at any time. If you want your clients to self-opt in, read this article.

Step-by-step instructions

Jump ahead to required information for clients here, and required information for prospects here.

Step 1: Navigate to the Clients section and click the Add Clients tab

Step 2: Stay on the Single Entry option and enter the necessary information with red asterisks.

We need the following information for both clients and prospects:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Email address

Agents need a lender co-sponsor to add prospects. For more information, please read THIS article.

Step 3: Once the client type is selected, the required and optional fields will auto-populate.


Required information for clients

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Email address

  • Home address (no city or state)

  • ZIP code

The following information is optional when adding a client one at a time:

  • Sold price and date

  • Appraisal price and date

  • Co-borrower (they'll receive the report, too!)

  • Loan data (this is highly recommended if you have it)

Please note: whether you provide loan details or not, we pull from public records what we can find and populate it on the report. We encourage your clients to update their loan details from within their reports if something looks off.

Once you've entered all client information, click the pink Upload button. Once you click upload, your client will automatically receive the welcome email within 24 hours or the following morning, and then every 30 days after that.


Required information for prospects

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Email address

  • Current home info* or

  • Pre-qual data* that is less than 12 months old

The last two bullets above are only required for loan officers. Without this information, we'll send prospects the buyer opt-in email. More on the last two bullet points below.

*If your prospect is currently renting and hasn’t been prequalified, you’ll need to include the following info in order for them to access the Home Search experience:

  • Subject property address

  • Subject property zip code

*If your prospect has been prequalified, you must include their current home information mentioned above and/or the following prequal info:

  • Pre-qual max loan amount

  • Pre-qual downpayment

  • Pre-qual max home price

Without this information:

  • They'll receive the buyer opt-in email

  • And will be added to your Maintenance tab under the Clients section of your account

You won’t be charged for the property information if they aren’t receiving the Home Digest Experience.

The following information is optional when adding a prospect one at a time:

  • Location(s) of interest (you may add more than 1)

  • Estimated price point

Once you've entered all prospect information, click the pink Upload button. Once you click upload, your prospect should receive their Home Search email within 24 hours or the following morning.
