Canceling, deactivating, or reactivating your Homebot subscription

How to cancel your subscription, what happens to your clients and data, and how to reactivate a deactivated account.

Written by Erica McGarvey

Who can cancel?

Any customer on a month-to-month plan can cancel at any time — no notice period required. If you're on an annual plan, cancellation takes effect at the end of your billing cycle.

How to cancel

  1. Log in to your Homebot portal.

  2. Go to the Account section.

  3. Click the Billing Info tab.

  4. Scroll to the bottom and click Cancel Subscription.

  5. Select a cancellation reason from the list below.

  6. Click Finalize Cancellation.

Cancellation reasons

  • Price

  • Too difficult to use

  • Found a better alternative

  • Lack of results

  • Didn't meet expectations

  • Career transition

  • Other (requires a written explanation)

Got an error during cancellation?

If you see an error message, contact support at [email protected] with:

  • First and last name on the account

  • Email address associated with the account

  • Reason for canceling

You can also use the pink chat icon in the bottom-right corner of your screen to message support directly.

Changed your mind? Keep your account active.

If you've already submitted a cancellation request but want to reverse it, email [email protected] with:

  • Subject: Keep my account active

  • Body: "I've changed my mind and would like to keep my account active under the email [your Homebot email address]."

What happens to your clients and data

  • Client data retention: Your client data remains saved in your account after cancellation. However, clients will no longer have access to their reports.

  • Co-sponsor disconnections: Any linked co-sponsors will be disconnected when you cancel. Upon returning, you'll need to re-invite them, and they'll need to accept the invitation to reconnect.

Can I pause my subscription instead of canceling?

Homebot doesn't offer the ability to pause an account. The recommended workaround is to cancel and reactivate later — your data will remain intact, but co-sponsors will need to be re-invited after reactivation.

Reactivating a deactivated or canceled account

Ready to come back to Homebot? Here's how to reactivate:

  1. Log in: Visit Homebotapp.com and log in using the email associated with your existing account (don't remember your password? click here, or use the "magic link" option if you haven't set a password).

  2. Log in with the same email associated with your existing account to avoid triggering a new-account onboarding flow, which may prompt a setup fee.

  3. Review and acknowledge the terms of service to proceed.

  4. You'll see a "Welcome Back!" prompt — click Continue, then choose your subscription plan and confirm your billing information (monthly or annual).

  5. If prompted for a setup fee, use the promo code "WAIVE200" or "waive50" to waive it — reactivating should not incur a new setup fee.

  6. After reactivating, navigate to Account > Digest Settings. Toggle the desired settings to ON (pink) and click Save to resume automated emails and digests.

Loan officers are charged $25/month per co-sponsored agent, while real estate agents on the Agent Partner plan pay $25/month. If no lender co-sponsor is connected, the default plan is Agent Starter at $50/month.

If your paid account lapsed due to a declined payment, it reverts to the free Homebot Network Plan — your client data remains saved, but this plan limits access to full features. Update your billing info in the Billing Info tab and upgrade back to a paid plan to regain full access.

If you're only on a free trial rather than a deactivated paid account, you'll need to upgrade to a paid plan to unlock client database features and home value email delivery.
