Let’s face it, we try hard, but sometimes the data we pull from public records just isn’t up to snuff -- and that affects the credibility of both you and us.  

The good news is that you can update that information in an instant - a win-win for everyone!

How it works...

Editing Home Facts is quick and easy.

1. First, log in to your Homebot account at www.homebotapp.com (bookmark this page if you haven't for quick access to your account!).

2. Now, click on the Find a Client tab and choose the home that you would like to update. Select your client by clicking on their name.

3. Once you've clicked on your client, you'll see an expanded view of their home profile, and at the bottom, their HOME FACTS.

In the example below, beneath HOME FACTS, notice the Sold on July 12, 2011 for $460,000 and 3 Beds, 3 Baths, 3,164 SqFt metrics for the home.  

Click on the blue pencil icon, directly to the right of the information you wish to edit (illustrated below by the pink arrow).

The Home Facts editor box will appear (pictured below).  You can now update the number of Bedrooms and Bathrooms, and the Total Square Feet by clicking in the text box, deleting the previous value, and typing in the new value. 

Follow the same process to edit the sold date/price.

4. Now that you've updated the property, click the blue Save Changes button.

5. You can see the new data immediately (with a note indicating when you updated it for future reference).

6. Made a typo or updated the wrong property? No worries! 

Just click the blue pencil icon, again, to re-edit -- or in the worst-case scenario you can always click Delete & Revert to Homebot Data if you want to wipe the slate clean.

That's it!  Now you have the power to edit your clients' Home Facts with just a few clicks.

***A Quick Note on Real Estate Math vs 'Normal' Math***

In order to make sure our data matches national standards, we've implemented a few rules you need to be aware of for bathrooms:

When adding all the various bathrooms together, full baths and 3/4 baths will count as 1 bathroom. 1/2 and 1/4 baths will be .5 and .25 respectively. Take the example below:

The total baths displayed will be 3.75 (i.e., 3 + .5 + .25).

On the other end of the spectrum, if a home has partial bathrooms listed prior to your edits, we'll present the number of full baths and let you handle the rest. For example, if a home is listed as having 4.75 bathrooms we have no way of determining what makes up the '.75'. In this case, we'll display 4 full bathrooms and pre-populate the remaining fields with zeros for you to correct.
